About OZ YILMAZ

Oz is a first generation immigrant to Canada who is dedicated to himself to social causes to change both unfair legislation and social stigma on immigrant, minority, and LGBT communities.

As the son of a stoic father, Oz learned from a young age the importance of relentless work ethic, stedfast adherence to ethical values, and the belief in fighting for equality and opportunity. His father’s legacy of principle based pursuit for a better life for all remains an inspiration in Oz’s life.

After graduating from Husson University and City University of New York, Oz worked with several non-profit organizations and volunteered in community programs led for change and awareness on poverty, immigration, worker’s rights, and LGBT issues.

As a film director who has been nominated and awarded for more than 10 films while continuing his quest to bring about real change for the under represented communities by vindicating the promise of progressive government by heeding a simple philosophy: deliver real change in real time.

Under his leadership British Columbia can once again become Canada’s beacon for social progress. Through a series of progressive legislative changes our economy can become stronger with a cleaner environment, a fairer criminal justice system, and more equitable distribution of wealth for all.

A Mission for Change

Canada was founded on the values of equality, justice and tolerance, and Oz Yilmaz has fought over the past ten years to uphold that legacy. He has established the Sovereign Foundation Project to assist immigrants and lower income persons threatened by intimidating policies and protect workers from unfair and discriminatory employment practices that protect employers in an unjust way.

He plans to present new legislative changes to reform the antiquated employment laws by presenting new reforms that provide stronger presentation and legal power in the courts for the workers. As a representative of B.C., his goal is to extend opportunity for all, to welcome immigrants, and to protect individual and religious freedoms and more equitable employment practices that empower workers throughout the province.
